It is cruel that music should be so beautiful. It has the beauty of loneliness and of pain: of strength and freedom. The beauty of disappointment and never-satisfied love. The cruel beauty of  nature, and everlasting beauty of monotony.

Curriculum Vitae

The Gabrieli Consort was formed in 2000 by director Judson Scott to provide students with the opportunity to experience the masterworks of the brass ensemble literature. Our repertoire includes works by Janacek, Richard Strauss, Ewazen, Pilss, Weinstein and, of course, Gabrieli, among others.  The ensemble performs each semester in Schneebeck Concert Hall, provides music for the graduation ceremony, and occasionally from the roof of Jones Administration Building.

Students are invited to join the ensemble; interested students should contact Dr. Scott.
