PINK MOUNTAIN-HEATHER

Ericaceae

Pink mountain-heather is a low (10-40 cm), branched shrub with erect stems that are almost hidden by the close, alternate, evergreen, 1 cm long, needle-like leaves. The pink to rose, pendent, bell-shaped flowers are borne singly or in a cluster at the tip of the stem on short erect stalks. Pink mountain-heather is common in open areas and forest margins at subalpine to alpine elevations.
