Come on in! Welcome to Mike Valentine's home page. Here's what I look
like sometimes (I'm the good-looking one on the left). I'm a Professor
in the Geology
Department at the University of
Puget Sound. I teach courses in geophysics, structural geology,
oceanography, natural disasters, and environmental science. My
research interests are primarily in paleomagnetics, including behavior
of the Earth's field in the past and the use of paleomagnetic studies
for geologic mapping and determination of motions of the Earth's crust
over time. If you'd like to know more about my teaching or research,
