![]() Ranunculus repens CREEPING BUTTERCUP Ranunculaceae Creeping buttercup is a weedy perennial that spreads aggressively by sending out long stems that root at the nodes. The leaves overall are triangular in outline and have 3 leaflets which are themselves tri-lobed and toothed. The leaves are usually dark green with lighter spots. The flowers are intense yellow, rather large (1-4 cm wide), with hairy sepals. A small scale-covered gland occurs at the base of each shiny petal. Creeping buttercup is common in moist to wet disturbed sites at low elevations. |
