broad-leaved marsh-marigold Ranunculaceae Broad-leaved marsh-marigold is a low growing (5-30 cm), slightly fleshy, glabrous perennial. The basal leaves are unusual for the family in that they are undivided, circular or kidney-shaped, with wavy to blunt-toothed margins. There are usually two flowers per stem (hence the specific epithet). The flowers have no petals, but the 5-12 white sepals and many yellow stamens are quite showy. Broad-leaved marsh-marigold is found in subalpine to alpine wet meadows, seepages, and bogs. |
