Matricaria discoidea

PINEAPPLE WEED

Asteraceae

Pineaple weed is a native annual herb, strongly pineapple-scented, with leafy branched stems 5-45 cm tall. The stem leaves are 1-5 cm long, alternate, and highly dissected into narrow segments. The heads are greenish-yellow, conical, and composed of disk flowers only. Pineapple weed grows in roadsides, waste places, and disturbed sites, often where the soil has been compacted, from low to middle elevations.
