HAIRY CAT'S-EAR Hairy cat's-ear is an introduced perennial herb with milky sap. The leaves are all basal, lance-shaped and coarsely-toothed, with spreading hairs on both surfaces. The heads are composed entirely of yellow ray flowers. The leafless flowering stems are branched with several heads at the ends of each branch. Hairy cat's-ear is one of our worst lawn weeds in western Washington. It is also found on roadsides, patures and other disturbed ground at low elevations. |
