Ginseng Family

The Araliaceae is a medium-sized family of temperate and tropical herbs, shrubs, trees, and vines that includes such genera as Panax (ginseng), Aralia (wild sarsaparilla), and Hedera (English ivy). The leaves are typically palmately compound (Opalopanax), but can be simple (Hedera). The flowers are small and clustered into simple (or sometimes compound) umbels. The fruits are berry-like drupes, each with 5 seeds.
