This is a huge site which has numerous links to discussions of all aspects of the use of herbs in America. Of particular interest are the links to the legislative aspects dealing with the use and oversight of herbs as dietary supplements and medical remedies.

 

Ketide Synthesis




Many of the properties of medicinal herbs may be attributed to the presence of polyketide derivatives. This secondary pathway is a branch point from the biosynthesis of fatty acids.
